Major International Airports and Visa Information
Singapore Changi Airport (www.changiairport.com) Metered taxis are available at each Terminal. The journey to the city ranges from S$18 to S$38 and takes approximately 30 minutes. Airport surcharges depend on the time and day: S$5 (0500 to 0000, Fridays to Sundays), an additional 50 per cent of final metered fare (0000 to 0600 daily) and S$3 (all other times). The Changi Airport MRT station is located at the basement of Terminals 2 and 3. There is an Airport Shuttle Service serving most hotels in Singapore costing S$9 per adult. Apart from visitors from China and India, most foreigners coming into Singapore do not require visas for entry and may be given up to 30-day social visit passes upon arrival. Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (www.suntecsingapore.com) A 20-minute ride from Changi International Airport and connected by bus and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) trains. The nearest MRT stations are Esplanade Station and City Hall Interchange (a 10-minute walk via the underground City Link Mall). Offers 100,000m2 of available floor space comprising convention and exhibition halls, a gallery, theatre, concourse, ballroom and meeting rooms. There are also 3,200 car park lots. Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre (www.singapore-expo.com.sg) Offers 123,000m2 of indoor and outdoor space, comprising of exhibition and conference halls, meeting rooms, mobile V-Rooms and The MAX Pavilion. Amenities include extensive 3.5G mobile coverage, WIFI access, a business centre, Internet kiosks, automated teller machines (ATMs), nursing rooms, prayer rooms and 2,200 car park lots. Taxis charge about S$15 (from the airport) and S$20 (from the city), subject to surcharges. There is a surcharge of S$2 for all taxis departing from the Singapore EXPO. Singapore EXPO is served by its own station, Expo MRT station along the East-West line.
